NEXT ROUND OF CONSULTATION ON DISTRICT’S FUTURE
Local residents will have the chance to comment on the latest series of preferred options for the future of the area at a series of exhibitions to be held around the district starting in the first week in September.
The seven exhibitions, organised by Salisbury District Council, are the latest stage of consultation on the authority’s Core Strategy of the Local Development Framework (LDF) that will help guide new developments over the next 20 years.
There is planned strike action by public service unions on 16th & 17th July. Please read the attached brief produced by SDC to see if you are affected. If your area is one of those affected then please let as many people as possible know.

The Village summer fete took place on Saturday 12th July at Idmiston School. It was a great afternoon with plenty of activities for the children including an excellent assault course, traditional games including Wellie wanging!

Planning Meeting about Porton Down on monday 16th June at 6.00pm
The main part of th emeeting this week will be about the latest Porton Down Planning application.
Please come along if you have anything to contribute, or if you just want to find out more.
The meeting is in the Memorial hall at 6.00pm.
The Memorial Hall was built in Idmiston Road, Porton to commemorate parishoners who gave their lives in two world wars. It opened in 1959. Although the exterior is not an architectural gem, the interior is warm, light, clean and modern, with facilities for disabled people. There is a good sized car-park. Volunteers manage the hall and we pay a cleaner and grass cutter. The hall is financed from lettings and fund-raising events, the main one being the Annual Porton Fete and Car Boot Sale.
